There are many ways to order your repeat prescriptions:
- By Telephone (POL) – 0300 421 1215.
- By post – Please enclose a stamped addressed envelope
- In person – Please hand it in to the surgery between 08:30- 18:00
- The collection and delivery service provided by your local pharmacist.
We will aim to make requests handed in at the surgery or made online available within 2 working days.
Electronic Prescription Service
We have upgraded to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
For this to work as smoothly as possible patients are requested to select a pharmacy of their choice to have their prescriptions sent to electronically. Patients that have not nominated a pharmacy will be given a paper copy “token” to take to any pharmacy which will enable that pharmacy to retrieve the prescription electronically from the NHS Spine.
The advantage for patients that have nominated a pharmacy is that the pharmacy will have received the prescription from the NHS Spine and may have already prepared the medication ready for collection when the patient arrives.
Please note: If you have not seen the doctor for some time, you may be requested to have a blood test and/or make an appointment to see a doctor, nurse or healthcare assistant so that your medication can be reviewed.
View the cost of prescriptions on the NHS website.
You can also find out if you are entitled to free prescriptions.
Our practice is collaborating with NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) which is providing NHS numbers for those patients that may be suitable for electronic repeat dispensing prescriptions.
The information is obtained from NHS prescriptions submitted to the NHSBSA.
A member of our clinical team will contact these patients soon to explain the benefits of this service.
